Illinois Gymnastics Club of Olney opened in 1988 at 303 E. Main St. in Olney, IL teaching dance and tumbling. In 2008 a new 8000 sq. ft. facility was built at 1601 E. Main St. to expand and improve our services. This facility allowed the capability of instructing tumbling, dance and martial arts. Plus, it gave access to a separate room for dance and karate and multiple parent viewing areas. Owners Donna and Kelly Henby participate in coaching the students that attend IGCO as well as their daughter Courtney. At IGCO we are proud to say that each member becomes family as all our staff build long-lasting relationships with the students and their family and friends. Our staff and members are involved in the community including local festivals, talent shows, parades, fairs and hosting dances. IGCO has received the Queen's Award, Best Musical, Best Business and Best Lights Awards at the local parades and is on a 7 year winning streak for the Richland County Talent Show.

 

 

 

Gymnastics

 

In 2008 our tumbling team starting competing in USTA and AAU competitions. Since then our coaches have received the National coach of the year award and our team has won multiple team and single competitor awards. The team has been undefeated in all invitational meets for 3.5 years. Furthermore, we have the priviledge to have multiple ELITE USTA National competitors and AAU National members.

IGCO also offer mulitple classes during the week for recreational tumbling for all ages to encourage students of all ages to learn and grow in all characteristics of life. These students practice on the floor, trampoline, double mini and tumble trac and have access to the foam pit and all our training aids to improve their skills. Private classes are offered for team and recreational members with any of our staff if a student would like to work one on one in all areas or a specific skill. 

 

 

Dancing

 

Our dance program starting competing in 2012 and partakes in competitions for Star Dance Alliance and Show Stoppers. Since starting our team and coach/choreograher have been awarded mulitple awards including:

2015 - Nationally Ranked

           3rd in the Nation with "It's Raining Men" in 12 and over division

           6th in the Nation with "He Could Be the One" in 11 and under division

 

The instructors additionally teach a variety of recreational classes to inspire physical, emotional and mental life skills for dance lovers of all ages. All our dancers have received 1st place at the Richland County Fair and have advanced to compete at the Springfield Illinois State Fair 7 years running. Every year they perform in 2 recitals, Spring and Winter, to show all the family and friends the routines they have learned and how hard they have been working.

 

 

Martial Arts

 

Olney Martial Arts is proud to teach karate and self defense courses. Some individuals compete in local tournaments. Each member purchases a Gi and Sparring gear which are available through our gym club. The members attend classes each week, on Wednesdays, to learn and improve technique and new skills. Ages 4 and up are welcome to join and our program has multiple adults, including parents of other IGCO members partaking in our course while their child is training in another class. In the class all our training aids are used for practicing how to defend oneself in any style of attack. Each class has the opportunity to spar to increase timing and be mentally ready for any situation. At the end of each session every student is evaulated to be promoted for a new belt to show they have trained themselves to higher level. A ceremony for promotions is held for each students to show skills and receive their belt and a trophy. Private practices and classes are available upon request.
